The Iranian Parliament speaker arrived in Tehran on Friday after a 7-day tour that took him to Venezuela, Cuba and Brazil.

Qalibaf took part in the 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum that was held on June 3-5 at the National Congress Palace in Brasilia.

He said many officials that addressed the BRICS Forum in Brazil decried the unilateral policies of the United States.

The American policies were collectively criticized at the BRICS Parliamentary Forum, Qalibaf noted, saying such trend has encouraged the BRICS member states to strengthen economic cooperation.

The forum brought together presidents of parliament and congress representatives from the eleven BRICS member countries --Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates-- and two of the nine partner countries.

The presidents of the New Development Bank (NDB) and the Inter Parliamentary Union (IUP) also attended the forum.
